The New Art Deco watch collection

This is a preview from Chronotempus article about Mouvex 1911

Every week, new people want to embark on the watchmaking adventure and we therefore see the birth of new Swiss watch brands, but also French, German, English and other countries. So, it’s not always easy to navigate and see what’s really interesting. However, when I discovered Mouvex 1911, I immediately got hooked on their project of art deco inspired watches. Behind this name, there is a real watchmaking history, because Mouvex 1911 is in fact the rebirth of a brand created in 1911 by the same founders who created Ebel. So let’s go and discover this new watchmaking house now!

The first watch from Mouvex therefore bears the name of the artistic movement from which it was inspired, Art Deco. We thus discover a collection in limited and numbered edition of 500 pieces which includes 14 references of different colors in the case and bracelets. To present this Mouvex 1911 watch in more detail, we must necessarily talk about its design. Indeed, this watch with its square case (with broken angles) and its round dial changes from what is normally done. This case is about 39 cm square, which is still quite contained, and it is worked with different finishes which reveals the shape of a cross starting from each angle. This case is available in steel, black PVD or rose gold.

But one of the other great interests and peculiarities of this Mouvex 1911 Art Déco, is undoubtedly its bracelet system. Indeed, the latter uses the same system as those of the Apple Watch and therefore the watch is accountable with the entire catalog from Apple and you can use all of the Mouvex bracelets on your Apple Watch. The advantage is therefore that you can now change straps often and vary between leather, rubber, fabric or even metal.
